John T. Lindquist
Dr. Lindquist was born in Bakersfield and attended local schools. In 1974 he graduated from Magna Cum Laude from Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Lindquist practiced in Delano and Shafter before establishing his current practice in Bakersfield in 1978. He is a member of the American Optometrist Association, California Optometric Association and Kern County Optometric Society. He has served as a president and secretary-treasurer of the Kern County Optometric Society.
Dr. Vasudha Bhutani "Dr.B"
Born and raised in the Himalayas, India, as a child, Dr. Vasudha Bhutani showed interest in eye care profession while restoring her favorite doll’s eye.
Dr. Bhutani received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey. Next, she obtained Doctorate from Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Her interest in Integrative Optometry led her to pursue residency in behavioral and developmental Optometry under the tutelage of a world renowned Optometrist, Dr. Claude Valenti in La Jolla, San Diego. In San Diego, Dr. Bhutani received invaluable experience in Vision Therapy for various types of patients - children that had learning disabilities due to vision problems, patients with traumatic brain injuries, and athletes that aspired for sports vision.
After offering her eyecare services at various private practices in South California for over 10 years, she felt the calling for taking on a role as a leader and make a difference in society at a higher level. In 2015, Dr. Bhutani was fortunate to meet Dr. John Lindquist, who presented her an opportunity to take over his private practice. With his professional expertise and guidance, she is proud to continue serving the communities of Kern County. In partnership with Dr. Michael Aoyama, she is committed to expand the legacy of Stockdale Optometry.
Dr. Bhutani is a certified Orthokeratology specialist. She is particularly interested in Myopia Control, which includes slowing down the progression of nearsightedness in children.
Besides being passionate about vision, Dr. Bhutani has a deep love for international travel, culture, food and music. She is an IKYTA certified Kundalini Yoga - Meditation Teacher. Dr. Bhutani finds volunteering for underprivileged kids, both locally and internationally, a truly fulfilling experience. Dr. Michael Aoyama
Dr. Aoyama (or Dr. A) was born in Tokyo, Japan and was raised in Berkeley, California and attended University of California, Irvine. After receiving his bachelor’s in Biological Sciences, he moved across country to Boston, Massachusetts where he attend New England College of Optometry.
For Dr. Aoyama’s clinical education, he provided care at Fresno Veteran Administration Hospital, New York Veteran Administration Hospital, and Boston Community Health Center. During this time, Dr. Aoyama gained significant knowledge in ocular disease management such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. He also gained knowledge in specialty contact lenses fitting (Scleral Lenses, RGP Lenses, Multi-focal, Mono-vision), primary care, geriatric and pediatric care.
Dr. Aoyama enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and a big Golden State Warriors fan.
